Binhing Handog '09

Ang Binhing Handog ay proyekto ng Development Studies Society (DEVSOC)
sa pakikipagtulungan ng Kabataan para sa Tribung Pilipino (KATRIBU).
Ang layunin ng proyekto ay makalikom ng donasyon para makabili ng mga binhing ipamamahagi sa mga katutubong Aeta sa Zambales. Isang booth ang itatayo sa CAS na tatagal mula Peb. 2-6 para sa pangangalap ng donasyon. Sa pagbisita ng mga Aeta sa huling araw sa UP Manila ibibigay ang mga binhi. Ang sumusunod ang mga binhing inaasahang ipamamahagi: ampalaya, sitao, pipino, talong, mustasa, pechay, labanos, sili, kamatis, upland kangkong, kalabasa, patola at upo. Nagkakahalaga ng 2-5 piso ang bawat pakete ng binhi na bibilhin ng grupo mula sa Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI). Sana'y makatulong kayo. Salamat.

Ayon kay G. Ben Rances ng Area Studies, dapat daw ay ugaliing magtabi ng 20% ang mga mag-aaral mula sa kanilang baong pera kada linggo. Magsisilbi itong pagkukunang pondo para sa agarang pangangailangan o bahagi ng kanilang ipon, dagdag niya. Ito rin ang gustong bigyang-diin ni G. Francisco Colayco sa akda niyang Wealth Within Your Reach. Sa halip na INCOME - EXPENDITURE = SAVINGS, dapat daw ay INCOME - SAVINGS = EXPENDITURE ang maging panuntunan ng mga mamamayan sa pampinansyang aspeto. Kumbaga sa halip na iaasa ang savings sa anumang matitira (kung meron man) mula sa income, dapat daw ay ibawas agad ang savings at pagkasyahin ang anumang matitira para sa mga gugulin o kagastusan. Green parks

Not all urban parklands are green parks. According to Prof. Natividad Lacdan*, some urban parks have more cemented portions than plants and trees. She added that the establishment of miniforests such as Quezon Memorial Circle and Parks and Wildlife are steps toward the right direction but continuous tree planting is needed in order to transform them into good green parks.
