In preparation for an activity in one of my classes, I asked former DOH Secretaties about what they think a health advisory should contain. Here are their inputs:
- Health advisory must be straightforward stating (1) what you are advising against, (2) what are the dangers associated with it that may mean sickness or even death in case of exposure, i.e., poison, and (3) what should be the emergency measures (former DOH Secretary Francisco Duque)
- A typical health advisory must be
-objective yet with critical analysis
-political but not partisan
-friendly, doable, and practical
(former DOH Secretary Jaime Galvez-Tan)
