  • "If a guy is killed on a secret mission and if it was sensitive

on him or we'd arrange a chopper crash, or wait until one happened

Pakinggan

MAGKABILAAN

May puti, may itim, liwanag at dilim
May pumapaibabaw at may sumasailalim.

A quote which reflects the life and struggle of Crispin Beltran

"The true hero is one with the masses, he does not exist above them."
-Renato Constantino

Taas-kamao para sa dakilang anakpawis!

"Anakpawis Rep. Crispin Beltran bolted
the Marcos prisons, emerged bloodied
from many a street demonstration, and,
even in his advanced years, continued to
fight the government and face threats of arrest.

From joining a taxi drivers’ union in the 1950s
and leading campaigns for higher wages across
five administrations, to becoming a three-term
lawmaker representing militant labor, Beltran
cut an unflinching, if gaunt, figure.

But “Ka Bel” also took these battles home and
turned his otherwise private struggles amid the
rising costs of living into an extension of his
lifelong protest against the system.

His sudden death Tuesday at 75 after an accident
at 6 a.m. at the family home, a barely finished
bungalow whose roof needed repair in time for
the wet season, brought to full light the
proletarian path he had embraced."

A reaction from Eric Napeñas* to the blogpost "Reasons behind the exodus of Filipino doctors"

"All valid and understandable reasons.
But it left out the reason that is subconsciously
inculcated in all Filipinos. Colonial mentality,
or basically that going abroad is the
first and best resort not the last resort.

Thinking aloud, perhaps if the option
of abroad or frankly AMERICA was
not available or dreamed to be available,
then maybe the movement for
socio-economic change would be an
acceptable option for much more Filipinos

Para kay Matilda Bicolandia

Huwag laging de-kahon mag-isip.
Baka kasi wala nang ibang maniwala o
kahit makinig man lang kinalaunan.
Mas mahirap 'yon 'pag nagkataon.
Sa halip na makahimok ng kasapi ay
baka mas dumami lang ang katunggali.
Matutong umunawa.
Matutong umangkop.
Matutong lumugar.
Wasto man ang prinsipyo
pero 'di angkop ang taktika,
magbubunga pa rin ito ng kabiguan.
Alam natin 'yan.
