Para sa mga DS alumni 2012


Bago ang lahat, ipinapaabot ko ang aking pagbati at pakikiisa sa mga bagong henerasyon ng propesyonal.

Apat na taon na ang lumipas simula nang kayo ay pumasok sa pamantasan ng bayan sa kursong Araling Pagkaunlaran. Inaral natin ang dialektika ng lipunan at pagbabago. 

Ngayon naman ay nagsisimula na kayong bumuo at magtaguyod ng kanya-kanyang career sa iba't ibang larangan tulad ng human resource development, environmental research, policy development, medical studies, international studies, transnational crime research, market research, capital market development, business management, community organizing, social welfare, local government, women's health research and advocacy, at iba pa gawaing pangkaunlaran.  Gayundin, nagpapatuloy sa mga larangang ito ang dialektika ng buhay.  Kaya inaasahang taglayin pa rin ninyo ang lawak ng kaisipan, kritikal na pagsusuri, at tatag ng karakter na nahubog at nilinang ninyo sa pamantasan.  Magiging salalayan at sandigan ninyo ito magbago-bago man ang karanasan, konteksto at kapaligiran sa trabaho.

Balikan ang mga konsepto, teorya at mga kasanayang natutunan sa loob at labas ng klase.  Ilapat sa konteksto ng inyong mga bagong karanasan ngayon.  Gayundin, humalaw ng mga bagong kaalaman mula sa inyong kasalukuyang mga karanasan at imungkahi sa akin para sa integrasyon nito sa kurso.  Sa pamamagitan ng ganitong ugnayan sa pagitan ng kaguruan at alumni ay magpapatuloy ang pagiging buhay, dinamiko at napapanahon ng Araling Pangkaunlaran sa antas ng teorya at praktika.

    Bagamat opsyonal ang policy lobbying matrix, tiyaking huhusayan pa rin ng mga magpapasa ang pagbuo nito.

Mga Paalala

  • Sa mga napayuhan kong mag-drop na sa mga klase ko dahil sa labis na pagliban at mababang grado, simulan na ninyong iproseso ito sa OCS. Salamat sa pag-unawa sa mabigat na desisyon kong ito.
  • Iniimbitahan ko ang iba pang mag-aaral ng DevStud na dumalo sa armchair exhibit ng DS 127 tampok ang pampolitikang ekonomya ng pagkain at nutrisyon ngayong Martes sa GAB 301B.
  • Ang nalikom na halaga mula sa Bookay-Ukay ay ipambibili ng binhi para sa mga marhinalisadong komunidad.  Samantala, ang mga natirang kalakal sa Bookay-Ukay ay ipinagkatiwala sa Gabriela Youth (UPM Chapter) para ipamahagi sa isang mahirap na komunidad sa QC at sa Tulong Kabataan Habagat relief drive.
